Help needed

My PS3 Is broke. Im really gutted I think I wore it out playing Fifa 10. I got home from work and an error message came up on screen. I first thought it was Fifa so tried Call of Duty but no good. I then wiped the hardrive but still no good. I rang Sony and they said it was laser but my DVD's work so Im not so sure. I got it 2007 and it's the bulky one. Anyway Sony want £130 for a refurb model they say it will be brand new but an older model. They say it cannot be fixed. So any help would be great as you know Im not in PK's league when it comes to IT. Really Really gutted no Fifa 10 great start to weekend.

mate i got my sister a slimline for her kid for christmas for £225...was thinking of upgrading my own for a slimline too

your in walsall right?...take it to the shop in the quasar centre, game shop, i think they do a repair service there

better to pay to have it repaired if you cant afford to buy a new one...no way would i pay £130 to buy the older type, and only a refurb...feck me you can buy a brand new 360 for that

On the way back from Blues VS Spurs I picked up a PS3 from Comet its the slim 250gb £280 had to be done can't go weekend without PS3 [lol]. Got back and just about to take Fifa out of broken console it starts working I can't believe it but error message pops up. So using new one cheers for that Scoobs yeah I live in Walsall I will take it down and see what they say. I did think about the Sony offer but I think you are right they said it would be like a brand new but I have my doubts. It's weird though I looked at the usual retailers and PS3 are the same price everywhere. X Box and Wii are different prices.

i just got a 40" samsung tele this week and its fucking amazing, lol

im debating on getting this new ps3 now...but i wont be paying 280, stuff that...i go5t one before x-mas for 225

ive also got street fighter 4, fight night round 3 and 4, mw2, some sonic game, fifa 09, need for speed

i could sell the lot because in truth i only play fifa 10, lol

what would be a fair price for a ps3, and those 7 games?

Id keep mw2 m8, i know u dont like it that much but at some point your going to want to shoot something apart froma ball and u wont be able too

My PS3 started overheating and turning itself off after two minutes. Took it in to Game the fisrt day the slimlines were out and did a part exchange. New slimline PS3 and a game cost me the same as the refirb model would have. Result!

Yeah I had a look on play.com etc but couldn't wait [lol] glad you got a new TV m8 I like Samsung tvs. I rang game today and they said they only repair PS3 purchased from them.

there are other game shops mate that do repairs...there is usually an advert in the paper too

Plays DVD's fine but not games. By the way the Carling Cup Final Programme is going to be a 50th anniversary collectors edition. Im probally the only one who collects football programmes so Im sad [lol].

Glad to know im not the only one then. Ive been looking at ebay but I had my PS2 In the garage for a year gathering dust.

Took it in Scoob £30 so getting it fixed. Im giving nephew so should go to a good home. Cheers for the help mate
