i havent scored many own goals, but out of the ones i have this is the most ridiculous

Scoobs, how does the dazzle work?

how much does it cost? can you still play/record in hd?

dazzle works in SD only im afraid

basically you need 3 splitters and a set of double ended RCA leads...

all you do is set the ps3 up as normal with the stansard scart lead...but you put the 3 splitters on the end so you can get a seperate feed going into the dazzle...which then plugs into your pc via usb

it comes with pinnacle studio editing software...without it you cant record or edit

there is a way you can play in HD but record in SD...there are a million tutorials on you tube mate, thats how i learnt

with the dazzle there are a load of different kinds and i was well paranoid about which one to buy...i had to send one back first because i had bought just the dvd recorder one


if you want to record in HD...the hauppage is the thing for you...i hear though you can only record in 720p because 1080p will kill the memory on your pc...although I will say...720p is fine...the kids have to play there 360 in 720p and my ps3 was set up on that tele before christmas and it had to play in 720p because they have one of the early flat screen samsung TVs and it only goes up to 720p........its fine...still great quality



It takes me 2 hours to upload 20 minutes of footage to youtube...and thats in SD



Dazzle can cost anything from £30 to £100...mine was £55 off ebay(£70 in maplin for the same one)...leads will cost you no more than a tenner for everything(3 splitters and a set of RCAs)


I am thinking of upgrading to the hauppage already...although as you can see, the quality is more than good enough just for you tube

I'll wait and see...maybe i'll upgrade yet...Im terrible for wanting good stuff...if there is something better out there(within reason, price wise) I always end up getting it, lol

btw...talk to henning...hes well up on this thing also...he also edits compilation videos etc, which i havent learnt about yet

playing in SD is a right bitch though mate, honestly...the videos look better on you tube than it looks on my tele when im playing, lol

my tele is the new series 8 or whatever samasung...so when i switch my dazzle on and have to turn from HD to SD it looks cack

in this vid...dont worry about the splitters...hes using 1 female to 2 male...then hes using female to female adapters...you dont need to do that...just get the splitters i showed you...1 female to 2 female

if you get a dazzle...get the platinum one...it might not be as cheap...but the quality is better than these older/cheaper versions


also in this video...a guy shows how he can play in HD, but record in SD at the same time...he shows it using the 360 because the 360 has component leads that have both SD and seperate HD output leads

for this to work you have to have the component plugs on the back of your tele...the one with the green plug, lol

these leads are also available for ps3, but you have to buy them...think they are about 15 quid...where-as with the 360 they come with it

i still cannot be sure if it works on ps3....because on 360 you have a little switch on the plug that goes into the 360 to say whether you wanna use SD or HD...im thinking of buying the playstation equivalent lead to check...you can deffo play in HD and record in SD if you have a 360...not so sure about ps3...will look into it more
